About
Marcia

For almost a decade, I’ve had the privilege of working with brides throughout Scotland, creating makeup that feels modern, effortless and timeless.

Known for glowing skin and soft smoky eyes, my style is inspired by fashion, beauty and a love of understated glamour.

I believe bridal makeup should feel personal. A look that reflects who you are, enhances your natural features and gives you the confidence to feel your best on one of the most important days of your life.

Beyond makeup

What I love most about bridal makeup isn’t the makeup itself.

It’s the people. The excitement of a wedding morning. The conversations whilst getting ready. The moment a bride sees everything come together for the first time.

Being trusted to play a small part in such an important day is something I’ll never take for granted.

My story

Nearly ten years ago, after years of working in the corporate world, I took a gamble and started an entirely new career. I’ve always had a creative mind, and I knew I needed to do something that allowed me to use it.

In 2016, I trained at the Academy of Makeup in Glasgow, where I was taught by award-winning celebrity and fashion makeup artist Sara Hill and renowned bridal and editorial makeup artist Rae Mathieson. Since then, I’ve continued to invest in my education, training with leading Australian makeup artist and educator Mia Connor, with further training booked with Kristina Gasperas.

My career began with practising on friends and family before working on glitter stalls at festivals; very different from the wedding mornings I’m now known for!

Weddings weren’t originally part of the plan. Brides began approaching me to do their makeup and, after experiencing those first few wedding mornings, I realised I’d found my thing. I loved the excitement, getting to know each bride and being trusted to make her feel really special during such an important moment.

As the business grew, I took another leap and opened my own Aberdeen salon, WYLD Beauty, in 2021. Building a salon from the ground up was something I could never have imagined when I first left the corporate world, and it remains one of the things I’m most proud of.

That original gamble has now grown into an award-winning bridal business, allowing me to work with fashion-forward brides across Scotland and the UK.

My approach

I don’t have one set bridal look that gets repeated on everyone. It might be fresh and minimal, soft and romantic, or something with a little more glamour and edge, and I’ll always have a soft spot for glowing, bronzed skin and a beautifully blended smoky eye.

Much of my inspiration comes from fashion and editorial beauty, but just as much comes from the bride herself and the details she has chosen for her day. The dress, flowers, venue and overall mood all help shape the finished look. I love bringing those references together and translating them into makeup that feels wearable, personal and completely you.

My kit brings together luxury favourites from Chanel, YSL Beauty, Dior, Charlotte Tilbury and more. Every product earns its place, not only for how beautifully it performs, but for how it feels on the skin, photographs and wears from the first look to the final dance.

Why work with me?

The person doing your makeup will be with you during some of the most personal hours of your wedding day, and I never take that privilege for granted.

I’ll listen to your ideas, and together we’ll create a look that feels completely aligned with you and your vision.

My aim is for you to look in the mirror and feel like the very best version of yourself. When the morning arrives, consider me your calm pair of hands, reassuring presence and biggest hype girl.

I’m based in Aberdeen and travel throughout Scotland, across the UK, with destination wedding enquiries warmly welcomed.

When I’m not holding a makeup brush, I’m usually obsessing over interiors and renovating my flat, planning my next trip or at home with my kitties.

Thank you so much for stopping by. If you feel I might be the right fit for your day, I’d love to hear what you’re planning.

Wedding Morning

I’ll arrive with plenty of time to set up and get settled before we start, then work through the bridal party at a comfortable pace.

I usually aim to have makeup finished around an hour before the ceremony, giving you time to get dressed, have photographs taken, make any final touches and enjoy those last little moments before the day really begins.

The number of makeups I can accommodate depends on your ceremony time, where you’re getting ready and the timings of the morning. I can usually accommodate up to six people comfortably, and in some cases seven may be possible. If the numbers or timings mean an extra pair of hands would make the morning run more smoothly, a second artist may be required.

Preview

Your preview is a chance for us to explore your wedding day makeup in a relaxed setting before the day itself.

We’ll talk through your dress, hair, flowers, venue and any inspiration you’re drawn to, then create a look that feels cohesive with the overall feel of your wedding.

You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what you want. Part of the process is working that out together.

Previews are held at my Aberdeen studio on selected dates throughout the year.
